A Public Reply to Linda Loca / LaLindaLoca

After I published this post, Linda Loca sent me an apology and asked me to attend some of her events. You can see some of it in my October 6, 2008 update to the Googlegroups page linked to in the following post.I'll make an effort to keep an open mind as I apply to rejoin her tribe, where such things are announced and discussed, and post here when there is news to be shared.

A few days ago, the moderator of the Chi-Burners, somebody calling herself "Linda Loca" or "LaLindaLoca", decided to play an absolutely adorable game in a thread entitled "Chicago Burns???" Having responded to a civil post in a confrontational and abusive manner, the moderator quietly unsubscribed me from the Tribe, creating the illusion that I had no answer to the rhetorical question she put to me, in such an accusatory tone.
In fact, I most certainly did have a response and still do, and have posted it to a page on googlegroup I help moderate, entitled "Linda Loca Represents for Burning Man", complete with screenshots and other documentation. The fun part of the story is that somebody seems to be borrowing the Burning Man brand in order to help promote a nightclub in Chicago. I thought that sort of thing was frowned on, but the local representatives would seem to feel otherwise. Keep a scorecard handy - let's see just how many of the ten principles get shredded along the way, and how badly.
